Plans Currently Under Review

There are three general application categories (below).  Click on each category to view active applications.

  1. Subdivision and land development – These applications generally involve the division or redivision of land for any purpose.  This category also includes the physical improvement of land for any purpose involving a single nonresidential use or two or more residential uses on a lot.
  2. Conditional use – These are specific uses that may be granted by the Board of Supervisors pursuant to express standards and criteria that are set forth in the Zoning Chapter of the Code.  A public hearing process is required for the conditional use process.
  3. Zoning Hearing Board (variances and special exceptions) – Proceedings before the Zoning Hearing Board are similar to conditional use hearings.  The main difference is that the Zoning Hearing Board presides of the hearings as opposed to the Board of Supervisors.

If you want to learn more about these procedures, they are outlined in much more detail in the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (Act of 1968, P.L.805, No.247) – the law that empowers counties and municipalities to plan and govern development and land use.
