ALARM SYSTEMS INFORMATION
The West Chester Police Department administers the Township alarm system regulations. Alarm registration is voluntary, but important. Without a current registration form on file, the West Chester Police Department may not be able to reach you in an emergency. Be sure to submit the Alarm Registration Form to the West Chester Police Department (there is no charge). The West Chester Police Department bills false alarms at the rates established in the current fee schedule (page 15).
Receive alerts about emergencies and other important county and municipal government information by signing up for Ready ChesCo. You will receive messages based on areas of interest, as well as emergency information based on locations you enter. You can receive the information in a variety of different ways such as your home phone, mobile or business phones, email address, text messages, and more.
If you or someone you know would need special evacuation assistance or attention in the event of a major emergency or long term power failure within the Township please take a moment to email the Township Emergency Management Coordinator. Examples would include those who are oxygen dependent, bed ridden, have severe medical conditions, are unable to walk, and or require electricity for medical reasons. That person’s information including name, address, telephone number, and reason for assistance will be included into the Township Emergency Operations Plan and will be kept on file at the Chester County 911 Center. These names are kept confidential and are only available to those responding to or during an emergency. All Township nursing homes and group homes are already included in the Emergency Plan.
Solicitation permits are required for anyone soliciting door to door in the Township. If a solicitor comes to your door, request to see the Township Solicitors Permit issued to them with their photo attached. Some non-profit organizations are not required to have a permit but still must register with the Township. If you have a concern about a solicitor, please do not hesitate to contact the West Chester Police Department at (610) 696-2700 or (610) 431-1212. Solicitor permit applications are available on our Docs & Forms page.
